Does Creative Contracting have any weaknesses I should know
about? Each and every company has a weakness.
Admittedly ours is that we as a team rely heavily on the successful
completion of internal systems and strive to finish each job
on schedule, and as a result it's challenging to make unexpected
and radical changes within the allotted project time frame.
For example, if at the half-way point of a kitchen remodel the
clients determined they wanted us to build an addition at the
same time we'd be hard-pressed to accommodate that request within
the time-frame allotted for the kitchen remodel. The addition
would likely have to be designed and produced later as a separate
job, with it's own timeline and project cost. It's vital that
all project decisions be well thought out and major remodeling
decisions are made prior to work beginning so that we have an
appropriate timeline and can provide the client with quality
design and service throughout the project.
Do you use subcontractors? Yes, we use subcontractors for a variety
of trades including but not limited to:
All
subcontractors used by Creative Contracting have the appropriate
licensures and adhere to International Building Codes, International
Electrical Codes and Plumbing standards as per their trade.
They are required to show proof of insurance as well. By utilizing
specialists in these areas (and others) we can save our
clients time and money throughout the entire process. Additionally,
Creative Contracting has built strong working relationships
with their subcontractors over many years and manages all the
coordination of scheduling and payments. Therefore, our clients
do not have to worry about paying sub-contractors and can have
peace of mind throughout the process.
Are your cabinets custom? In an effort to meet client budgetary
and design requirements, we have several cabinet manufacturers
we recommend. Some brands of cabinetry used on projects
are stock while others are "semi-custom" meaning that
they are made-to-order but that there are limitations either
to sizes, wood-species or finishes available. Other brands are
"custom" meaning that-if we can draw it, they can
build it and cabinets can be ordered in virtually and size,
door-style, wood-species or finish.
Do you have architects on staff? No. The Creative Contracting staff come
from a variety of professional disciplines that contribute to
their ability to visualize, conceptualize and develop one of
a kind, quality designs, bringing each project to life with
high quality craftsmanship and materials. Our clients benefit
from the collaborative efforts of our marketing/sales, production,
design, and office management staff. Creative Contracting may,
however, consult an architect or engineer for you if the work
is extremely complicated and involves historical buildings or
complex connections. This is done on an as-needed basis.
Can we provide our own product? Because the building process can be extremely
complex and most products including windows, doors, siding,
cabinetry, etc. are fundamentally linked with the building/remodeling
process, Creative Contracting provides the products necessary
to complete the project. Our goal is to provide superior quality
and service to our clients within the allotted timeframe; order
accuracy, quality shipping and order completion are directly
related to the success of a project.
Can I do some of my own work? A client may do work that they are legally
allowed to do in his/her home as long as it does not hinder
the schedule in which the client and Creative Contracting have
agreed on. We want to work within each client's budgetary
constraints and will discuss client involvement on a case-by-case
basis.
Are you a "Green Builder"? "Green" means many things to
many people. For some, it means using only materials from sustainable
resources like recycled products or fast-growing crops like
bamboo. For others, it's about using products that do not
contain harsh chemicals (like formaldehyde) or use harsh
chemicals during their manufacturing processes. And for yet
another group, it means designing in ways that improve energy
efficiency (like passive solar) or water conservation.
Creative Contracting does not promote itself as being an
expert in any one particular "shade of green", however
we do our part to conserve fuel and energy where it is practical
to do so, are open to and have worked with products that are
eco-friendly. We will consider new products and ways of
building things provided the materials and practices are predictable
enough that we can have reasonable confidence in their quality
and longevity.
